douglasslang Eulogy is just SO GOOD. It makes me want to lay in a field, close my eyes, and forget which way is up and which is down.

This collection of music makes me feel like I'm sharing the moment and space with Jake when I listen. Favorite track: eulogy.

loom 03:31
whispers over glassen water amber shroud of contours steaming (the sun dips low) where once you washed anew (she tastes her reflection) where once you slipped into it all loom under a waxen sliver (hallucinating you) crane your neck to find crane your neck to find boon of sky soliloquized (dimpled corner of your lip) crane your neck to find crane your neck andromeda’s sarabande silent flue subsumed all i can see is your eyes all i can see is you quantize or quantify all i can see is you

untitled 03:16
clinging to the warbled asphalt the chicory in bloom neither lost in rendezvous nor memory festooned the seasons heave in magnitude and i am here with you in wilkes-barre dawn's delayed arrival to listen in the silence to the babble on a stone our hemiola aquifer laid within the chapel green dialectic orchestra douses for the stream in wilkes-barre cradled underwater to glisten in the skylight naked and unknown
4.
leviathan 05:41
atop the palisade lilting frames assuage dusk we were young with fertile hands and noble blood we were young stilled breath at the grave nascent quake we rarify from the summit to the tide we rarify i lost myself within the migratory plan and landed in your open palm leviathan mourn the nameless questions a colonnade of loss stones in prescient spirals annulled duality i landed in your open palm you chose to keep me when the raindrops come to constellate into heartbeats blanketed by night we'll be the ochre in the underground the oracle at streetlight

the chandelier above us delights the room in scattered fledgling stardust aflutter as it spins the robin's zenith cry to herald evening she races through the dappled light crowds in murmuration this land's forgotten me i've forgotten how to be and in my lonesome way i'm slower slower still still only awash in tired story ink and vellum stretched on bone illuminated fractures borealic womb the ivy cracks through brick and snakes inside to find the vhs is convalescing static a child all alone a court of passerines return and turn away now slower slower still still only painted memories of how you move flash before me like a may storm and you're six years old at your grandparents' home you hide underneath the dining room table and the way you move makes me wish i could too

in time 06:47
our fleeting home a siren's call away dugongs in the alcove bound against the ardor of the wind borne by my bare chest in time in time to moor my mind love notes spilled under dome of night daffodils shuddering in time you asked me inside inside in time in time quiet on the promenade how could we stay how could we know the power of our vacancy together alone thou and i blue sky obscuring the passenger the smile of a stranger our fleeting home a siren's call away in time in time thou and i in time

revenant in the corner of my mind will you still be by my side when the lights go out magnolia too cold to call it spring how an april shower sings on the nape of your neck on the nape of your neck gilded fawn bow to the blind hour porcelain and smoke sorrowful the apiary waits for a meadow's gentle sermon would that god could stay would that i were with you now would my tears run up your shoulder and be lost within your hair will you love me when i'm older porcelain and smoke

about

passenger is about trust, finished amidst a global pandemic and protests for freedom from systemic oppression, written from my small corner of the world, growing ever-smaller as the home that’s taught me the quiet magic of nature is slowly consumed by noisy human gluttony.

in a moment that feels, for so many reasons, too difficult to trust anything, this album has become for me a distillation of trust, familiar buoys on the inky depths.
it is with hope that i share this story, as i know that the vulnerable sharing of story holds the power to heal.

to you who find time to share with this work, may it bring you peace.
to you who made this possible, thank you. without you, i would be adrift.
